Soorty & Rieter Partner for Sustainable Spinning
Soorty, one of Pakistan’s largest and most forward-thinking denim manufacturers, has partnered with Rieter, the world’s leading provider of spinning systems, to elevate sustainable, high-performance textile production. At the heart of this collaboration is Soorty’s fully automated, state-of-the-art ring spinning mill — equipped entirely with Rieter technology — enabling the creation of premium yarns with unmatched flexibility, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
The facility features 20 G 38 ring spinning machines operating at spindle speeds of 12,000–18,000 rpm, supported by the Autoconer X6 for precision winding. These systems allow Soorty to produce slub yarns with unique textures, ideal for fashion-forward denim, while optimizing energy use and reducing waste. Additional innovations like the high-performance card C 80 contribute to resource savings and increased output.
A standout feature of this partnership is the integration of DNA marker technology developed by Rieter and Haelixa. Applied during the fiber blending process via the UNImix B 72, these unique markers enable end-to-end traceability — from the blowroom to the final garment — offering unprecedented supply chain transparency and reinforcing Soorty’s commitment to ethical sourcing and accountability.
This technology aligns with Soorty’s broader initiatives, including the Soorty Organic Cotton Initiative (SOCI), which supports over 1,000 farming families in their transition to organic cultivation.
