Introducing
Soorty's Cotton Clubhouse

As a global leading responsible denim producer at scale, we take pride in our vertically integrated setup that enables us to oversee every aspect of denim production, from fibers to finished garments. It empowers us to curate fabrics with unparalleled precision, ensuring that we weave a kinder version of denim with each thread.

Our journey begins with sourcing cotton. The feel, look, and performance of the jeans you are wearing today, their durability, and overall impact all hinge on responsible procurement. Factors such as where and how the cotton grew, its water and carbon footprint, and fiber strength are all elements that shape the fabric.

We dedicate our focus to understanding and excelling cotton and invite you to explore Soorty’s different initiatives on Responsible, Traceable and Trustable Cotton.

Soorty Organic Cotton Initiative - SOCI - is a transformative program reshaping Pakistan’s organic cotton landscape by bringing organic agriculture, farmer empowerment, and complete supply chain traceability under one umbrella.

Since its launch, the SOCI has:

  • Engaged +1,300 farmers across 4,050 hectares

  • Increased organic cotton availability while maintaining certification standards

  • Equipped farmers with the knowledge and tools of organic farming

  • Created socioeconomic benefits such as fair wages, financial inclusion, vocational training, and infrastructure development, with a special emphasis on empowering women.

2.Soorty Regenagri Initiative
Healing The Soil To Heal Ourselves

Building on our efforts in sustainable cotton farming, Soorty Regenagri Initiative promotes regenerative farming, improving soil health, water retention, and biodiversity.

Why Regenerative Cotton?

Industrial farming has adversely affected our planet. Conventional agriculture contributes up to 25% of global emissions. These methods not only reduce GHG emissions but also capture more carbon compared to traditional agriculture.

AWARENESS

Regeneration begins with a deep understanding of our operations, ensuring relevance of the farm to its surroundings.

2.png
SOIL CARE

We minimize soil disturbance with minimum tillage, and use methods farmers have been using since ancient times to enrich biodiversity.

ECOSYSTEM HARMONY

Keeping the surface covered, integrating livestock and having living roots all year for a harmonious habitat.

Soorty Regenagri Initiative is:

  • Collaborating with a community of small-scale farmers trained through our Farmer Field School model

  • Partnering with REEDS to implement Regenagri certification standards, with Control Union as the certifying body

  • Driving an active inclusion of female farmers to ensure diversity and empowerment in capacity-building

3.Soorty Sustainable Cotton Research Hub

A site is designed as a center for innovation, research, and education in responsible cotton farming. Situated within walking distance of Soorty’s denim mill in Karachi, Soorty Sustainable Cotton Research Hub is a center for exploring and conducting trails on innovating advanced agricultural techniques and seed purity. While also demonstrating the potential of climate-resilient and resource-efficient farming methods in compliance with sustainable standards, it is serving as a training ground for farmers.

In an age where responsibly sourced and reliable cotton is essential, the hub provides invaluable insights and advancements to support Soorty’s multiple cotton initiatives.

4.Soorty Seed Integrity Lab

A cutting-edge facility that strengthens ethical farming by ensuring access to pure cotton seeds, allowing reliable, traceable cotton sourcing.

Soorty's transformative sustainable cotton journey is shaped by a deep commitment to non-GMO, contaminant-free cotton. The laboratory reflects Soorty’s ongoing efforts to improve supply chain transparency and ensure product integrity and is advancing purity through:

  • DNA Testing for GMO contamination

  • Single-plant ginning and rigorous quality control

  • Sustainable seed purification for future harvests

5.Second Life

Denim-to-denim Recycled Cotton Solutions

Second Life® is Soorty's recycled cotton brand, pioneering denim-to-denim recycling by transforming worn-out garments and production defects into new, traceable and durable denim. It is a fully integrated, in-house recycling system, making post-consumer waste (PCW) and post-industrial waste (PIW) a resource rather than an environmental burden.

Unlike traditional recycling our sorting and shredding technology and decades of experience help us maintain yarn strength, allowing for high-quality fabrics. Our PCW & PIW test reports confirm that our cotton fiber parameters are leading the industry benchmark.
