DUTCH DESIGN WEEK, 2019
Soorty was at Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven - the biggest design event in Northern Europe welcoming more than 350,000 visitors each year.
Design Thinking is a tool for improvement for us at Soorty. We define ourselves at engineers at heart with a need to be restorative and regenerative by design. We believe the life cycle of a product starts already when being designed and embrace design and development are key points of sustainable production and a responsible lifestyle. In the end; great design is about a greater purpose. What makes DDW different from all the other design events is the fact that it focuses on the design of the future. Thus it is a milestone for us presenting our forward thinking ideas, innovations and mindset in this community, this environment.
During the event, Soorty was showcasing The World's First Digital Denim Garment - the game changing collaboration we had with The Fabricant, The Amsterdam based digital fashion house along with the Denim Curiosity Table, The Recycled Fabrics Family which offers a wide range of fabrics with blends from 5% all the way up to 99% and The Emergency Green House: a collaborative futuristic project presented by Soorty x Living Tailors. The Emergency Greenhouse is a pragmatic object - a tent to provocate. Emphasizing that due to the currently happening climate change and the crisis it brings, we won’t be able to survive in our lands and offers a way of "going back to basics” in a post-apocalyptic situation.
